(I've seen no real life data on the P4S yet). However, cold cracking on regular Super Sports and the Continental DW (another highly rated and popular UHP summer tire) is pretty rare. Toyo and Yoko even supply warnings that some of their tires with this problem should not be subjected to temps under 20 degrees EVEN WHILE OFF THE CAR IN STORAGE! Michelin issues a standard warning for all of their Sport UHP tires that they not be used below 20 degrees. The effect you are referring to is "cold cracking" and is present in several ultra high performance tires, particularly Toyo and Yokohama brands. There are many sorry drivers on the C7 forum with cracked tires! I have PSS on the M235 and P4s on the AMG GTS, so neither car could be driven today. Last winter, Bowling Green suspended loading Vettes on the delivery trucks when the temps were too low. We all know traction is poor under 50 degrees, but that's not what this is about. The cracked sidewalls that may occur will not be warrantied. Just a reminder that Michelin warns that PSS cars (and P4s) should not even be moved if the temps are 20 or below.
